CLASS 2A

Othello (10-1) vs. Prosser (11-0)

When: Saturday, 1 p.m.

Where: Lampson Stadium, Kennewick.

What’s ahead: Semifinal vs. Pullman-Burlington winner.

State rankings: Prosser No. 1, Othello No. 3.

Notable: Yet another all-CWAC state matchup for Prosser, which defeated Othello 54-21 on Sept. 19. In his first game back from an early injury, Prosser RB Dylan Bolt rushed for 130 yards and three TDs against Othello and QB Jordan Durbin threw for five TDs. … The Huskies haven’t lost since then, winning eight straight. Othello scored two first-quarter TDs and took advantage of four Colville turnovers in a 28-21 first-round win last week. … Othello QB Marc Garza has thrown for 1,268 yards and 17 TDs, but Othello kept it on the ground mostly against Colville with just five complete passes. … Prosser is averaging 482 yards a game and has scored 76 TDs.

CLASS 2B

White Swan (7-4) vs. Asotin (10-1)

When: Today, 7 p.m.

Where: Clarkston High School.

What’s ahead: Semifinal vs. Colfax-DeSales winner.

State rankings: Asotin No. 2, White Swan No. 9.

Notable: White Swan is in the quarterfinal round for the first time in school history while Asotin has made it this far four years in a row. … Garfield-Palouse lost to both teams in the last two weeks. Asotin won 49-6 to conclude league play and White Swan prevailed 27-12 in the first round of state. … White Swan RB Eric Nanez has rushed for 1,519 yards and scored 23 TDs, and QB Cesar Hernandez is seven yards from reaching 1,000. … The Cougars are actually 9-2 on the field, having forfeited its first two wins because of an ineligible player. … Asotin has won nine straight since a 28-21 setback to Grangeville, Idaho. The Panthers have rushed for 33 TDs and passed for 32. Senior QB Creighton Alford has completed 63 percent of his passes for 1,841 yards and 31 TDs.
